The core mission of a Business Intelligence Engineer at Ignite is to ensure that we deliver what we promise.

You will play a hands-on role in designing and developing data products to meet the objectives of our customers.

You will get to see the delivery from end to end.  From working closely with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, to seeing how our clients use the data product and get value from it – the moment of uplift.

You will be part of collaborative teams, playing a hands-on role in designing, developing, testing, and deploying data products.

You will be guided by our Delivery Leads to master multi-disciplinary delivery methods – from Agile Scrum and Agile Kanban to CI/CD and DevOps.

As a front-end developer, you will work closely with our clients.  Helping bring their ideas to life, and ensuring they know how to use the products you build.

You will get to work with a range of customers; from globally recognised organisations to exciting scale-ups.  Working with Utilities, you will play a role in the Australia Energy Transition, whilst gaining experience across other industries, like Agribusiness.   Learn more about our customer stories here.

 

The Responsibilities of the Role

It is the responsibility of the role to:

  • Elicit and capture customer requirements for analytics capability, understanding and aligning to business outcomes and drivers
  • Design, build, test and deploy data products in line with Ignite delivery frameworks
  • Apply data visualisation best practice for intuitive and effective reporting and analytics solutions
  • Proactively identify and provide recommendations to address blockers
  • Effectively communicate and guide end users on effective use of data assets

Your Experience

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years experience developing with PowerBI or Tableau toolsets
  • Experience in end-to-end project delivery. Articulating involvement in requirements, design, development, testing and deployment to production.
  • Experience working with end-users.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant Certification (PowerBI Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Data Analyst/Specialist).
  • Experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Experience with cloud technologies Azure/ AWS.

The Process

Because culture is important to us, our recruitment process is designed to allow us to get to know each other better.

  1. Short-listed candidates will be requested to send a 3-minute introductory video.
  2. First-round interviews will be held with our Managing Director and Founder, where you can learn more about the purpose of Ignite.
  3. Second-round interviews will delve into your core competencies.
  4. Final-round interviews will check for values alignment.
