The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer with cloud experience to join our growing team. Be part of our scale-up journey and supportive, inclusive culture while working with leading technologies such as:

You’ll be involved in solutions from end to end, working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and seeing the impact of your work as clients leverage data products to drive value.
You’ll also be part of collaborative teams, playing a hands-on role in designing, developing, testing, and managing data-led solutions. Guided by our Delivery Leads, you’ll master multi-disciplinary delivery methods—like Agile Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, and DevOps—while working with a range of customers across industries, from Utilities (supporting the Australian Energy Transition) to Agribusiness and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cloud Data Engineer at Ignite, you’ll ensure we deliver on our promises by:
- Translating customer requirements into data and analytics solutions.
- Designing, building, and managing robust, scalable data solutions.
- Conducting thorough testing and improvements to guarantee reliability.
- Identifying roadblocks and opportunities for improvement and proactively addressing them.
- Ensuring alignment with Ignite’s delivery framework while contributing to team activities.
Your Skills & Experience
We’re looking for candidates with:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of cloud experience (Azure/AWS).
- Strong skills in SQL and Python.
- Proven experience in end-to-end project delivery for machine learning or data warehousing projects.
- Certifications in Azure, AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- The ability to work closely with end-users and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Our Recruitment Process
Our hiring process is designed to ensure we’re the right fit for each other:
- Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit a 3-minute introductory video.
- First-round interviews will be with our Managing Director and Founder to discuss the purpose of Ignite.
- Second-round interviews will focus on your core competencies.
- Final-round interviews will assess values alignment with our leadership team.
This is a full-time role, but we’re flexible—part-time options are available for the right candidate. You must have valid rights to work and live in Australia or New Zealand.
